may i release without ceasing

my reliance on others

for a sense of belonging worth embrace

may i find complete rest in the vessel of self

acknowledging also the interconnectedness

of all things and that i am served by all things and

i may serve how and what i will

yet may lay no claim on another

stop grasping so hard i pray

yes you will feel defeated

yes you will feel lost

lonely unknown yes if only will echo on

and your heart will ache

and you will weep but

there is no gain in wallowing

except to know the well of the world’s pain

may you awaken with each given breath

pure of spirit expectant only of this
